About the Learners Guide
Free resource for learner drivers
The Learners Guide has been created and is maintained by Roger Grimshaw who was a fully qualified Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor for several years and also has experience dealing with motor insurance claims with one of the biggest providers in the country.
The main focus is to make the learning to drive experience as enjoyable and rewarding as possible, whilst hopefully increasing road safety.
Find a suitable driving instructor
The Learners Guide will help in your search for a suitable driving instructor. For the key considerations when making your choice see choosing your driving instructor.
Check out the driving school profiles on the Learners Guide using the Instructors search.
We provide useful information needed throughout the different stages of learning to drive, including all about the driving test and useful links to official websites. The useful links can be used to apply on line for a provisional licence to get started, check current theory and practical test fees, book tests, check or change tests and much more.
The Learners Guide has full colour illustrated lesson plans. These can be useful preparation in advance of practical driving lessons. These can also be revisited at any time throughout learning to drive. The lesson plans will help outline the main rules and considerations for various topics.
